Active cases toll down to 37,905

The total count of active cases toll of Pakistan due to the novel coronavirus dropped to 37,905 after more than 4000 patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 84 more people succumbed to the disease in the past 24 hours whereas 2,142 new infections and 4,415 recoveries were reported during this period.

The national caseload now stands at 462,814 with 9,557 confirmed deaths.

A total of 35,621 tests were conducted across the country during this period. Overall 415,352 people have recovered from the deadly disease so far while 6,406,281 samples have been tested thus far.

Coronavirus Vaccine

State Health Minister Dr. Faisal Sultan said that the corona vaccine would be available in Pakistan by March next year. He said the government is in touch with three companies for purchasing the coronavirus vaccine.

The Special Assistant said priority would be given in vaccination to health workers and people of above 65 years age. Moreover, he said it is more dangerous and has affected a large number of people around the world. He urged the general public to adopt the SOPs to protect from the virus and contain the pandemic.

World Coronavirus Situation

The number of Coronavirus cases across the world has reached 78,366,297while the pandemic has claimed 1,724,039 lives so far. As many as 55,128,559 patients have recovered from the disease across the world.

On the other hand, the European Commission called on member states to lift travel bans imposed against the UK amid fears of a new Covid strain. The non-binding recommendation has put forward ahead of a meeting of ambassadors from the 27-member bloc.
