26 0

Earlier this year, the world was struck with a global pandemic. The virus outbreak shut down businesses and along with them many major events such as football tournaments, cricket matches and even the Olympics itself; it also majorly impacted the geek world as renowned comic conventions and other related events such as E3 2020, San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con had to be postponed.

However that did not stop DC Comics and Warner Bros. Entertainment from pulling off the biggest virtual event in their history called, DC FanDome. Announced in June 2020, the online convention primarily featured all DC comics related content from TV shows, movies, games, comic books and animated series. The main convention was held online titled DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes on 22 August whereas, a second convention took place on 12 September titled DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse.

Viewed by over 22 million people worldwide, not only did the convention cater to satisfying millions of fans with trailers and teasers of their upcoming favourite movies, shows and comics but also took the fan involvement to a whole new level. Throughout the convention, DC Comics displayed all forms of art and cosplay from fans all around the world. Fans not only submitted their creative art but also donned many creative costumes to showcase their passion for the DC characters they grew up with.

Like all fans around the world, Pakistani fans were not behind either. Many talented artists and cosplayers submitted their work to DC FanDome which to their surprise and delight made it on the global platform for the entire world to see!

The first feature was that of Pakistani cosplayer, Asad Shams (MAS Cosplay) which happened on the main event, DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes right as Matt Reeves’ The Batman Panel ended. His cosplay of the black suit version of Superman was displayed on the main screen of DC Comics.

It did not end here. The preceding event, DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse saw even more Pakistani cosplayers and artists get featured. The Fan Gallery of DC Comics FanDome was full of some really amazing art works along with some very well made cosplays. Check out the amazing artists below:
