Development And Revival Of Film Industry, Top Priority Of Govt

Federal Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz has said that development and revival of the film industry is the priority of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

According to details, a delegation of Pakistan Film Producers Association (PFPA) called on Federal Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz in which the delegation briefed the Information Minister in detail about the problems facing the film industry.

On the occasion, PFPA said that they want to improve filmmaking and in this regard, the cooperation of the government is needed.

Senator Shibli Faraz said in the meeting that they are committed to providing a conducive environment for the development of the film industry.

The Federal Minister for Information also said that the institutions which do not adapt themselves to the modern requirements lose importance while like other institutions this sector also has to adapt to the requirements of the new era.

Senator Shibli Faraz said that the Ministry of Information was making the film department more active and efficient while Prime Minister Imran Khan had the vision to highlight his culture and values ​​through films.

The Federal Minister for Information also said that films are not only a source of entertainment but also a cause of social reform and training. We have to protect our national heritage and culture through films as well as make Pakistan’s positive image known all over the world and the government is ready to provide all possible facilities to the film industry.

Senator Shibli Faraz said that in order to introduce future generations to their history and celebrities, all the skilled people including scriptwriters and musicians involved in the filmmaking process should get adequate compensation for their work.

Federal Minister for Information Senator Shibli Faraz added that he would take all possible steps to resolve the issues related to the film industry while discussing cooperation with Iran and Turkey in the field of film.

The delegation led by Chairman Pakistan Film Producers Association Mian Amjad Farzand also included Chaudhry Ijaz Kamran, Alia Rashid, Rao Shehzad, Rana Naeem, Additional Secretary Information Shahira Shahid and other officials of the ministry.
