Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan attaches great importance to relations with the United States.
According to details, US Democratic leader Tahir Javed had a meeting with Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi at the State Department in which special talks were held regarding Pakistanis residing in the United States.
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations and economic diplomacy between Pakistan and the United States were discussed.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi congratulated Tahir Javed on receiving the Medal of Distinction from the Government of Pakistan and appreciated his efforts to improve Pak-US relations.
The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan and the United States are allies in peace efforts in the region, including the Afghan peace process.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also said that our government has focused its attention on geo-economic priorities.
The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan was providing important business facilities to foreign investors including e-visa, adding that US companies could invest in various sectors of Pakistan to avail of these incentives.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also said that many personalities holding important positions in the Biden administration are aware of the affairs of Pakistan and the region.
Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi further said that the present US government is expected to play its effective role for peace in the region including peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.
On the occasion, US Democratic Leader Tahir Javed said that the current US government is deeply concerned over human rights violations in Kashmir.
During the meeting, US Democratic Leader Tahir Javed thanked the Secretary of State and assured him that he would do his utmost to promote economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
