Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has revealed that he drinks cow urine every day for ayurvedic reasons. According to Hindustan Times, the actor, who is currently shooting in Scotland for his upcoming film BellBottom with Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta Bhupathi, joined British adventurer and host Bear Grylls for an Instagram Live, to talk about going on a jungle adventure with him.

When Huma asked Akshay how he convinced himself to drink elephant poop tea on the show, Akshay said, “I wasn’t worried. I was too excited to be worried. I have cow urine because of ayurvedic reasons every day, so that was okay.”

This statement created some serious buzz on the internet where people gave their opinions on the topic related to cow-urine and while some even gone to the length of trolling the actor.

Popular Turkish Actor, Hande Subasi who is also known by her TV character, Aykiz Hatun in Dirilis: Ertugrul series took to Twitter and bashed Akshay Kumar, calling cow-urine to be something disgusting.

In her tweet, she says that Turkish people drink Ayran (a traditional yogurt drink) which is very soothing and energetic, indicating its healthy aspects while taking a further dig at Indians by comparing the prices, which according to her is more costly than the cow-urine, however she says, it is worth the cost as at-least it is not some urine.

Hinduism, which is a the largest religion in India, preaches the consumption of Cow-urine as part of the medicine for various problems pertaining health issues, however modern day doctors have often rejected this theory as a myth but many India continue to follow it as part of their faith.
