RAWALPINDI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has fired 54 employees for submitting fake credentials, taking bribes, smuggling and involved in drugs and stealing government records.
According to the details, the action was taken against the employees after questioning and the committee’s reports found them guilty of the charges against them.
13 other employees were awarded letters of appreciation for their dedication and commitment, while 7 people were given monetary awards for work in addition to duty of call.
A PIA spokesman said that as accountability was ongoing in the organisation, 54 employees were sacked after various allegations were proved in inquiries and committee reports.
He said that 7 out of 54 employees were involved in tampering with documents, 8 were on long leave without permission, 2 were involved in taking bribe from customers / contractors, 4 were involved in illegal and immoral activities One was fired for involvement in alcohol and drug trafficking.
He said two employees were fired for stealing and destroying government records, one was fired for smuggling and one was fired for disobeying and disobeying legal orders.
In addition, five employees were convicted of withholding increments for unannounced and unethical behavior, nine were sentenced for pay cuts and another was given censorship notice while on duty.
In this regard, PIA’s Human Resource Department said that discipline is the most important aspect of any organization as it binds the employees and also urges them to abide by the rules and regulations of the organization.
