Reports are coming in that Taliban now liberates Kunduz province after a long battle against the Afghan National Army this Morning.

Kunduz is the capital of Kunduz province and the largest urban center in northeastern Afghanistan and the Taliban seems to have driven out the Afghan forces from the city.

A pro-Taliban Twitter handle posts a video of a Taliban fighter celebrating the victory in the provincial capital.

Later Taliban’s official spokesperson released a statement by claiming that the province has been liberated.

There is also another viral story being shared on social media of Pakistani flag being hoisted after the Taliban victory in Kunduz province. Although this could not be verified if the image of the Pakistan flag hoisted in Afghanistan after throwing away the Afghan flag is doctored or true, but it is causing a great buzz around the internet.

Within 36 hours 4 provincial capitals in three corners of Afghanistan fell to the Taliban namely; Nimroz, Jawzjan, Kunduz and Sar-e-Pul.

. a Few days back Afghan First Vice President Saleh accused Pakistan Army and its special forces by stating that Taliban are guided by Pakistan’s special forces

Afghanistan First Vice President Amrullah Saleh

Vice President claims: “From an organizational point of view, the strength of the enemy is divided into three parts– The first section deals with trained personnel directly guided by special Pakistani counter-insurgency units/nuclei from Peshawar-Quetta and elsewhere. Google communication tools and maps make it very easy. The second part is the local parts that work under the name of the military commission, and they do not play many roles except by extorting money from the people and imposing parties on the local people. The third part is the recent recruits and summonses who have no morals.”

Many know Amrullah Saleh as an Indian mouthpiece in Afghanistan but his allegations against Pakistan as a vice president of the country is serious and must be held accountable.
