Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid has issued the warning to resolve the issues before May 31 as he fears that PTI’s long march could go ‘out of control’ and things could turn bloody. He also offered Imran Khan of communication with the Pakistan Army if he is assigned the duty.
He was talking to the media outside his residence, Lal Haveli, in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
The former interior minister claimed that the situation around Rawalpindi is worsening everyday and the country is steering towards a deeper crisis.
He said, “We don’t want to the country into crisis. Our sole demand is a fresh election.”
Rashid warned that all ‘issues’ must be resolved or else the crisis would not alleviate but escalate. He demanded that the date of election should be finalised within three months.
He said that a country, whose interior minister is a drug dealer, could not attain peace. He also held the Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah responsible for some recent street fighting incidents.
He reiterated his support for Imran Khan, saying he will stand by him in the long march. Rashid claimed that the people, whose face public is unwilling to see, have been given the power.
Responding to question, the former interior minister said he stands with the Pakistan Army and he is ready to communicate with it if Imran Khan assigns him the duty to do so.
