Sumbo: Love Story of a Man Who Lost His Wife But Keep Her Dream Alive

1124 0

This world is mortal and nothing is forever. One day we’ll all die, and the goal is not to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.

They say love beyond the world cannot be separated. Death cannot kill what never dies, and I have my faith in this. If the people we love are stolen from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever.

We have been listening about true, immortal love from movies or stories; some belief in it and some don’t, and then there are those who are living it. This story of a Pakistani man Shafqat will not only bring tears to your eyes but also restore your faith in true and eternal love. Where people are breaking up and parting ways over a misunderstanding, this man shows that true love exists even after death.

Shafqat and Sumbul – Kind of Love Tale That We Don’t See or Hear Often

Like all beautiful stories, this one too started with two souls falling in love with each other. The lovely Sumbul meet the handsome Shafquat in 2017, two hearts beat on the same magic frequency and rest become the history. It was a literal marriage of minds, with two like-minded people having the same dreams and passions.

They both dreamed of starting their own apparel business. The young girl, Sumbul with her lively and vivacious personality wanted to introduce something different to the Pakistani fashion industry, while Shafqat, with his love of fitness and commitment to comfortable clothing that allowed him to pursue an active lifestyle, agreed with her, and hence the journey begins with lots of plans and goals to create their own Fashion apparel business.

The Tragedy Struck:

But destiny had something else in store for them. Something that we pray would happen to no one. One day, amid all the plans and goals, Sumbul left Shafquat alone in the journey. The young girl had a sudden cardiac arrest in 2019, which turned out to be lethal for her. Just after a year and half of a happy married life, Sumbul bid goodbye to her soul mate. Shafquat, lost without his bright and vibrant lady-love, shelved all their dreams.

A Move To Memorialize The Vision of Sumbul

After months of mourning and grieving, Shafquat decided that he would not let Sumbul’s dreams go in vain. He knew that he had to do something to memorialize his wife’s vision.

Shafquat started a clothing brand ‘Sumbo’ to commemorate the dream that he and his love shared. Derived from Sumbul’s name and meaning gift ‘gift of God’ in many languages, it was not only a brand but a homage to the life that they both planned together.

The official account of the Sumbo wardrobe reads: “Sumbul and Shafquat vision has come to life in this brand that celebrates life and movement. It honors Sumbul’s love for black and white with a splash of color to represent her spirit. Every article of clothing at Sumbo is selected carefully by Shafquat, each fabric tested for versatility and freedom of movement. Thank you for choosing Sumbo where we live life to the fullest”

Not only that, but Shafquat also established a Madrassah by her name at Panu Aqil. The name of Madrassah is Dars Gaahe Sumbul, for Islamic education and learning of local kids. Sumbul left the world, but Shafquat still keeping his promise. He still often visits her, places a gentle kiss on her tombstone, and promises to keep this love alive, forever,

Everyone falls in love, it’s easy, but what is difficult is to keep it alive and today, this story made me believe that when there is love, there is a way.
