As per the announcement by government, 27th February will be celebrated as Surprise Day to pay the tribute to our National heroes and to the retaliatory attack by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for downing the Indian Air force Jet.
On Feb 27 last year, PAF had destroyed two Indian Air Force fighter jets inside the occupied Kashmir.
Pakistan Air force dropped bombs within the compounds of Indian military facilities in occupied Kashmir as a warning.
During the operation, the Pakistani forces captured Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
Later, The pilot was handed over to Indian authorities as ‘a goodwill gesture’.
